The 116610LN is powered by the Rolex Caliber 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely manufactured by Rolex.  While the base architecture dates back to 1988, the version in the 116610LN includes significant upgrades:

• Hairspring: Equipped with the paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, providing superior resistance to shocks, temperature variations, and magnetic fields. 

• Jewels: 31

• Frequency: 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz)

• Power Reserve: Approximately 48 hours

• Functions: Central hours, minutes, seconds, and a date display at 3 o'clock with instant change and quickset correction. 

• Features: Hacking seconds and bidirectional rotor winding via red reversing wheels.

The Rolex Submariner Date ref. 116610LN, produced from 2010 to 2020, is the successor to the 16610LN and is distinguished by its "Super Case" design and black Cerachrom bezel. Often referred to as the "Maxi Submariner," it features a 40mm 904L stainless steel (Oystersteel) case with wider lugs and more robust crown guards than previous generations.
