The Rolex Datejust 36 Reference 16233 is the iconic two-tone Datejust produced from 1988 through approximately 2005, defined by its Rolesor construction in Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold with a fluted gold bezel. It was a landmark reference that introduced the sapphire crystal (replacing acrylic) and the quickset date function to the Datejust line, while upgrading the movement to the Caliber 3135.
